For over three decades, Darren McHenry has been a cornerstone of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s low brass section, bringing warmth, depth, leadership and artistry to the orchestra. In addition to his orchestral career, Darren shares his passion for music as a faculty member at the Meadows School of Music at Southern Methodist University and as a performer at the Sun Valley Summer Music Festival. Darren has performed in the past with the New York Philharmonic and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

When he’s not on stage or in the classroom, Darren enjoys an active lifestyle– cycling, exercising, and tackling home remodeling projects. He and his wife are proud parents of two sons who play cello, and they cherish their time together as a family with their dog, Rocky.
