The Plan

An extensive Regional VeloWeb is a critical part of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (COG) Mobility 2050 Plan to ensure regional connectivity and continuity. The map to the right reflects the linking of multiple planned and existing shared use paths included in this plan creating the route of Loop 15 Texas.

When completed, Loop 15 Texas will connect 15 cities and 3 counties providing safe alternative transportion and recreation opportunities for almost two million residents of the this region.

These cities include; Fort Worth, Roanoke, Flower Mound, Bartonville, Copper Canyon, Highland Village, Lewisville, Carrollton, Coppell, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, North Richland Hills, Watauga and Haltom City. Residents and visitors in these cities and Tarrant, Denton and Dallas counties will enjoy the benefits of The Loop 15 Texas Trail.

Loop 15 Texas Progress

Currently approximately 40% of Loop 15 Texas is completed and in use by walkers, families, runners and bicyclists. The exact route of some sections of the plan are likely to change as development continues due to existing infrastructure, easement conflicts, etc.

One such anticipated change exists where the trail leaves North Richland Hills and enters Haltom City. The map to the left reflects this possible re-routing and provides for the connection to another trail in the COG plan with additional connector trails to "close the loop".

The current Federal administration has eliminated all funding for shared use path construction making our efforts more challenging. Loop 15 Texas, along with YOUR help, will succeed in helping these cities and counties complete this valuable transportation and recreation solution.
